Malad flyover offers no respite for motorists

MUMBAI: The recent commissioning of three lanes of the proposed six-lane flyover near Times of India junction in Malad does not seem to havehelped motorists save time.

The flyover was supposed to bring down time taken to cross the junction to five minutes from the earlier 25 minutes. However, it still takes 15 minutes for the north-bound traffic to clear this junction in the evening peak hours.

According to MSRDC chief engineer Subhash Nage, the second half of the flyover is expected to be ready by June 30, 2010 and motorists could continue to face traffic woes till such time.

Amit Raje, a resident of Borivli, said he and his friends have got no respite from traffic jams as only one lane is opened for north-bound traffic in the evening. read more...

Is Democracy & Freedom best utilised?

India is a free country and we have the chance to elect our own person to rule this country.

Being democratic is also some times not good for every one and people start making mis-use of it.

Why on this earth the special powers are mostly used not for anything which is good and healthy?

You can walk in the middle of the street and the bikes can go on the foot path, ofcourse when no police man is watching.

The police will do what? will fine a hundred rupees or take Rs. 50 which goes to his pocket and allow the biker to go away.

The rules are there, but no one will or want to apply them strictly. Then why are the rules ment for.

Just scrap every law which is not helping us and let people live as they want. But this means ppl will not be in their control and this means the poor or the weaker sections of society has to suffer.

Think on this and react now before it gets too late.
